A Balanced Score Card

The most significant thing to having an effective business is to have the most forward-thinking data. It very well may be utilized by directors for staffing, for example, additional end of the week staff during the bustling season, or an occasion end of the week and this data is totally found on the reasonable score card. There are some different instances of data that can be discovered, for example, to much staff in one office, pointless additional time, if a full time representative is accepting hours because of the slow time of year, and regardless of whether a staff can be elevated or moved to an alternate division. The benefit is one of the data that is appeared on the decent score card, bookkeeping can take a gander at this and know whether advertising and deals need to make change in paces of rooms, or different regions. One approach to expand benefits through showcasing would make changes to rooms, what sort of enhancements are offered and doing advancements or limits to help bring the benefits up. The fulfillment of workers and their condition the contribution of representatives are likewise remembered for the decent score card. This will assist the executives with adjusting the earth to help with the representatives so they are glad and all the more ready to perform well on their activity and that is a significant key in client care. Visiting the Boeing plant in Seattle, Consolidated president Reuben Fleet evaluated the B-17 and concluded that an increasingly present day airplane could be planned utilizing existing innovation. Ensuing conversations prompted the giving of USAAC Specification C-212. Expected from the beginning to be satisfied by Consolidateds new exertion, the detail required a plane with a higher speed and roof, just as a more noteworthy range than the B-17. Reacting in January 1939, the organization consolidated a few advancements from different activities into the last plan which it assigned the Model 32. Plan Development Doling out the task to boss creator Isaac M. Laddon, Consolidated made a high-wing monoplane that included a profound fuselage with huge bomb-narrows and withdrawing cargo openings. Fueled by four Pratt Whitney R1830 twin Wasp motors turning three-bladed variable-pitch propellers, the new airplane included long wings to improve execution at high height and increment payload. The high viewpoint proportion Davis wing utilized in the structure likewise permitted it to have a generally fast and broadened go. This last attribute was increased because of wings thickness which gave extra space to fuel tanks. Also, the wings had other innovative enhancements, for example, covered driving edges. Intrigued with the structure, the USAAC granted Consolidated an agreement to manufacture a model on March 30, 1939. Named the XB-24, the model originally flew on December 29, 1939. Satisfied with the models execution, the USAAC moved the B-24 into creation the next year. A particular airplane, the B-24 highlighted a twin tail and rudder get together just as level, section sided fuselage. This last trademark earned it the name Flying Boxcar with a considerable lot of its groups. The B-24 was likewise the primary American substantial plane to use tricycle landing gear. Like the B-17, the B-24 had a wide cluster of guarded firearms mounted in top, nose, tail, and tummy turrets. Equipped for conveying 8,000 lbs. of bombs, the bomb-straight was isolated in two by a thin catwalk that was generally despised via air groups however filled in as the fuselages basic bottom bar. B-24 Liberator - Specifications (B-24J): General Length: 67 ft. 8 in.Wingspan: 110 ft.Height: 18 ft.Wing Area: 1,048 sq. ft.Empty Weight: 36,500 lbs.Loaded Weight: 55,000 lbs.Crew: 7-10 Execution Force Plant: 4 Ãâ€"Pratt Whitney R-1830 turbo-supercharged outspread motors, 1,200 hp eachCombat Radius: 2,100 milesMax Speed: 290 mphCeiling: 28,000 ft. M2 Browning machine gunsBombs: 2,700-8,000 lbs. contingent upon extend An Evolving Airframe A foreseen airplane, both the Royal and French Air Forces put arranges through the Anglo-French Purchasing Board before the model had even flown. The underlying creation bunch of B-24As was finished in 1941, with many being sold legitimately to the Royal Air Force including those initially implied for France. Sent to Britain, where the plane was named Liberator, the RAF before long found that they were inadmissible for battle over Europe as they had deficient protective deadly implement and needed self-fixing fuel tanks. Because of the airplanes substantial payload and long range, the British changed over these airplane for use in oceanic watches and as long range transports. Gaining from these issues, Consolidated improved the plan and the primary significant American creation model was the B-24C which likewise included improved Pratt Whitney motors. In 1940, Consolidated again reconsidered the airplane and created the B-24D. The primary significant variation of the Liberator, the B-24D immediately amassed orders for 2,738 airplane. Overpowering Consolidateds creation abilities, the organization inconceivably extended its San Diego, CA manufacturing plant and assembled another office outside of Fort Worth, TX. At most extreme creation, the airplane was worked at five distinct plans over the United States and under permit by North American (Grand Prairie, TX), Douglas (Tulsa, OK), and Ford (Willow Run, MI). The last constructed a gigantic plant at Willow Run, MI that, at its pinnacle (August 1944), was creating one airplane for every hour and at last worked around half everything being equal. Reconsidered and improved a few times all through World War II, the last variation, the B-24M, finished creation on May 31, 1945. Different Uses Notwithstanding its utilization as an aircraft, the B-24 airframe was additionally the reason for the C-87 Liberator Express load plane and the PB4Y Privateer oceanic watch airplane. In spite of the fact that dependent on the B-24, the PBY4 included a solitary tail blade rather than the unmistakable twin tail course of action. This plan was later tried on the B-24N variation and architects found that it improved dealing with. In spite of the fact that a request for 5,000 B-24Ns was set in 1945, it was dropped a brief timeframe later when the war finished. Because of the B-24s territory and payload capacities, it had the option to perform well in the sea job, anyway the C-87 demonstrated less effective as the airplane experienced issues arriving with substantial burdens. Subsequently, it was eliminated as the C-54 Skymaster opened up. In spite of the fact that less powerful in this job, the C-87 satisfied an indispensable need right off the bat in the war for transports fit for flying significant distances at high height and saw administration in numerous venues including flying the Hump from India to China. Everything considered, 18,188 B-24s of various kinds were fabricated making it the most created aircraft of World War II. In spite of the fact that Liberators kept on flying for the RAF all through the war, they were not utilized for key shelling over Europe. With the US passage into World War II, the B-24 started to see broad battle administration. The principal US shelling strategic a bombed assault on Wake Island on June 6, 1942. Working over Europe, the B-24 got one of the vital airplane utilized in the Allies Combined Bomber Offensive against Germany. Flying as a major aspect of the Eighth Air Force in England and the Ninth and Fifteenth Air Forces in the Mediterranean, B-24s rehashed beat focuses across Axis-controlled Europe. On August 1, 1943, 177 B-24s propelled a well known strike against Ploesti as a major aspect of Operation Tidal Wave. Leaving from bases in Africa, the B-24s struck the oil fields from low height yet lost 53 airplane all the while. Skirmish of the Atlantic While numerous B-24s were hitting focuses in Europe, others were assuming a key job in winning the Battle of the Atlantic. Flying at first from bases in Britain and Iceland, and later the Azores and the Caribbean, VLR (Very Long Range) Liberators assumed an unequivocal job in shutting the air hole in the Atlantic and crushing the German U-pontoon danger. Using radar and Leigh lights to find the foe, B-24s were credited in the sinking of 93 U-vessels. The airplane additionally observed broad sea administration in the Pacific where B-24s and its subsidiary, the PB4Y-1, unleashed ruin on Japanese delivery. Over the span of the contention, adjusted B-24s help as electronic fighting stages just as flew furtive missions for the Office of Strategic Services.â Group Issues While a workhorse of the Allied besieging exertion, the B-24 was not massively well known with American air teams who favored the more tough B-17. Among the issues with the B-24 was its powerlessness to continue substantial harm and remain on high. The wings specifically demonstrated powerless against foe fire and whenever hit in basic territories could give way totally. It was normal to see a B-24 tumbling from the sky with its wings collapsed upwards like a butterfly. Additionally, the airplane demonstrated exceptionally powerless to flames the same number of the fuel tanks were mounted in the upper pieces of the fuselage. Also, groups nicknamed the B-24 the Flying Coffin as it had just one leave which was situated close to the tail of the airplane. This made it hard to incomprehensible for the flight team to get away from a disabled B-24. It was because of these issues and the rise of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress in 1944, that the B-24 Liberator was resigned as a plane toward the finish of threats

Was it that everybody they recruited just idea and talked a similar way? That appeared to be ridiculous. Since you’re not making an entirely different voice or brand character, your official voice ought to be an augmentation of the remainder of your image. So the initial phase in building up your rules is to assess your present image vibes so as to discover approaches to vocalize it. A few inquiries you should pose include: What Are Our Brand’s Top Values? What should be at the center of everything your organization does? In the event that your organization has characterized basic beliefs, a statement of purpose, or some other sort of formal articulation, all streets should lead back to it. Theories esteems or reason ought to be spoken to in all part of the brand, and how you converse with your crowd is a tremendous piece of that. For instance, Skype’s brand rules, or â€Å"brandbook,† begins with a couple of significant pieces of their strategic qualities explanation: (Picture Source: Skype Brandbook) Suggested Listening: How to Develop Editorial Values That Improve Customer Success With Gregory Ciotti From Help Scout] What’s the Voice in Our Top Content? In the event that you have a ton of existing substance, however it wasn’t made with a particular, vital voice, you can play out a substance auditâ to distinguish your best and most exceedingly awful performing content. Start by asking these questions.Step 2: Define Core Personality After you’ve took a gander at the most grounded pieces of your image, you have to concur on, â€Å"well, what does that sound like?† otherwise known as integrating things into a subject. I like to see it as concocting a â€Å"spokespersona.† Just as you’d make a perfect profile or personaâ for your clients or perusers, make one for the exemplification of your image. Or then again, in the event that you have a mascot or representative, base this off of them. Choose your persona’s state of mind and character, how they depict things, and how they see themselves. For instance, are you: Conversational with an annuity for no particular reason digressions, or short-spoken? One to concentrate on realities and measurements or progressively inspired by stories and individuals? Brave and bold, or mindful and hazard loath? Make what you gathered in stride 1 and irregularity it into three principle visual cues or modifiers that depict your image. (Picture Source: Percolate) For instance, Percolate characterized their center personalityâ with descriptors like â€Å"thoughtful, intriguing, glad, striking, and human.† Suggested Reading: Spark Your User Persona to Life With These 9 Important Tools Stage 3: Drill Down to Tone Presently it’s time for something that’s muddied up a ton: taking the general subjects and voice, and determining tones to use in specific situations. It’s simple for brands to characterize one, yet not the other, or mistake them for something very similar. Be that as it may, consider it by and by: your voice is your voice, yet you take various tones relying upon: Who you’re conversing with: your grandmother versus your closest companion What you’re looking at: recounting to a story versus giving guidelines How you feel: befuddled versus clear, stimulated versus â€Å"hangry† In their manual for online life voice, Buffer offers this definition: â€Å"Essentially, there is one voice for your image and numerous tones that refine that voice. Voice is a statement of purpose. Tone is the utilization of that mission.† A similarity I like is seeing voice as substance, and tone as setting. Voice characterizes what you may state, tone refines how you may state it. For your own image, consider how you would compose an email about another dispatch or significant achievement contrasted with a client care email. Not the equivalent, isn't that so? So once you’ve characterized your brand’s generally speaking voice, envision how that would happen in various situations and settings that will come up in your substance.

hello from seattle

hello from seattle hello from seattle! Also, another nerd circus. (re: Chris (M)’s post from a while back) Oy! Welcome to the much-belated “what I’m doing this summer” post. I’m working at Microsoft! Ok, post over, back to work/weekend (maybe both, I’ve got a lot of work to do this weekend). Just kidding. Unfortunately, the only ones of you who might’ve believed that my post ended there are likely the ones viewing MIT admissions on smartphones, to whom I say “ptooie” because I don’t have a smartphone and I think data plans are a rip-off. And because I wish my desktop computer’s LCD screens would have a reasonable pixel density compared to your phones. Yeah, text-scrolling-based humor probably took a severe hit when screens started growing beyond 8024 (characters, not columns â€" durned kids today, always thinking in pixels). Back in my â€" err, my dad’s â€" day Right. Moving on. Back in January, when I was enrolled in this year’s Silly Robot Extravaganza 4000, I looked at my to-do list and saw the item that had been sitting on there for at least a month: get a job. Eww, jobs. Anyway, being extremely lazy and procrastinatory, I decided to tell myself I was going to do it and proceed to do next to nothing. My interview process went as follows (note that I am too lazy to use ul and whatnot): -Talk to sponsor corporation representatives at MASlab sponsor dinner, meet Guy Steele (!!!) -Drop in on a random career fair at the student center completely unplanned schmooze collect swag (too many free bags! Companies: more flash drives and USB gadgets, ya hear? I have enough bags!) drop off resume at Microsoft table and chat with representative. The last subitem on the list wasn’t one of my intentions. However, I can’t say now that I regret it at all. Although I’m saving that topic for another post (perhaps when my internship is over and I’m not working around-the-clock to meet my own personally-set deadlines), it comes up here because: Microsoft sent me to Redmond! Huzzah! Although I’m a field intern at their Cambridge office â€" a mere unfortunate stone’s throw from MIT (your stones would hit the roof of MIT’s building E60, probably (not (yet) tested), where I spent almost three summers working with MITs Edgerton Center, and where I spent the third quarter of my sophomore year of high school working on MIT’s FIRST Robotics team #97. Which comes up as a point of discussion several times a month and probably will for the rest of my life, for better or for worse (same goes for this). Uhh, sentence fragment from two sections above resuming too much C++, not enough english recently. (gdb) step *just kidding I’m not working at a primarily-gcc-using-company **this blog post probably leaks memory, I don’t free anything and there’s no RAII ***really moving on now ****quadruple pointers: you’re probably doing it wrong. Anyway, although I’m a field intern, Microsoft this past past (past) week flew most of their field interns out to the main Redmond, WA campus for some “intern events”! Hooray, summer camp! Or something. Yes, I actually saw this. No, I didnt take the image from a recent gizmodo post. We six interns from Cambridge (host to more than six interns, but we were traveling as one unit) got to Redmond on Tuesday the 6th, where I proceeded to make all sorts of plans to explore the town, which definitely did not involve watching TV and falling asleep (relatively) early. Wednesday and Thursday were the bulk of the trip; apparently traveling cross-country takes the better part of a day out of you. News to me, as this was my first time on the west coast! I loved it, although I don’t know if I’d rather live there than Boston. All I know is that I’d like to see some more of it. Who knows, maybe I’ll go back again and explore a bit, this summer On Wednesday I caught a cab from Microsoft’s campus into Seattle to visit my aunt; my aunt and uncle live in Seattle and I’d never been able to visit them in their state. After an excellent walk on trails that went right under the highway â€" something so urban-ly (not urbanely) weird to me, compared to parks in Boston â€" and delicious sushi for lunch, I caught another cab to amazon, where I met up with a friend from school to go rock climbing at a gym somewhere in Seattle. There’s a large group of MIT interns at Microsoft this summer, and it’s pretty cool to be able to find people from MIT â€" even people in my grade â€" working in amazing internships and jobs all over the country as early as freshman summer. After rock climbing I scrambled (called a cab without hesitation, and proceeded to sit and wait calmly for fifteen minutes) and made it back to Microsoft’s campus in time for the real highlight of the week: the nerd circus. Microsoft’s intern program definitely takes care of its interns when it comes to benefits; I had a cost-free (except for souvenirs and the cost of the non-Microsoft-planned rock climbing) week in Washington, and to top it off, this: they bought out an entire showing of Cirque du Soleil’s Kooza. What’s more, I had a center seat in the front section; lucky me! The show was personalized, but not at Microsoft’s request, hint, demand, or furtive eyebrow-waggling; no, the circus performers threw in tidbits like the occasional well-placed Windows sound effect or iPhone 4 “you’re holding it wrong” joke, just for us. The show had me doubled over laughing repeatedly, but that’s not what’s special â€" an episode of Psych can occasionally do the same thing â€" and that wasn’t throughout the performance. It was the scariness, fluidity, and 8.012-tacular (check OCW if you don’t get it) awesomeness of the acrobatics that blew me away and kept my heart rate semi-unhealthily hig h throughout the performance. I’ll admit, the acrobatics seemed so dangerous that at times I started (minimally) nervously sweating solely out of fear for the performers. The show wasn’t just a robotic display of gymnastics, though; the performers reacted to the audience quite well after their stunts. I hope we were a good audience; they deserved more than the standing ovation we gave them. ANYWAY, I believe they’re performing in Boston now and all y’alls should go see them when or if you get a chance. My seat is, in my opinion, more than worth the near-$120 price (only a few months of your fancy shmancy smartphone’s data plan. Yeah, I’m talking to you, silly people with locked-into-data-plan-smartphones)* (see end of post for a far too relevant footnote), but there are cheaper seats available for the less enthusiastic. The madness does not stop there, however. Yep. Introducing: my new media player. (the ‘hello from seattle’ is engraved on every Zune) (this part’s not) At the end of the show, Microsoft gave out 16GB Zune HD players to all of this year’s interns. I had been looking into buying a portable FM radio with a large honkin’ antenna for the past few weeks, but the radio reception on this (with the additional benefit of an HD radio receiver/decoder/thingamajig) blows away my other portables, and it stores a hefty amount of music. I am much impressed, although I’ve found (and internally reported â€" massive field test, eh? ;) ) a problem/complaint or two with it. I don’t know if I’d have bought one on my own, to replace the $1-from-woot.com Sandisk 1GB mp3 player / FM radio I’d been using, but receiving it for free was certainly nice. I’m not trying to sell you on Microsoft â€" there are a small number of things I haven’t liked about my employment there, and a few things I still don’t really like; for example, I am writing this on the T (Boston’s subway) on my way home from the office, at about 10PM. However, some of those things are my own fault, and others are to be expected with a large company; I dont have the time to paint a full picture for you just yet. If this post was to be about jobs and internships in college, I would highly recommend checking out positions Microsoft, along with the rest of the “big dogs” â€" Google, Amazon, Apple, et cetera. However, I may do a post about working at Microsoft later on. This post is just supposed to be about my four day trip to Seattle, including an amazing visit to the (nerd) circus. The Microsoft-heavy content is hard to avoid, though, when I seem to be spending all my time working at or traveling with Microsoft. Regardless, I hope you enjoyed my post and are thinking about going to see Cirque du Soleil. It’s a very impressive show, and I wanted to give the performers some recognition. They deserve it. Since I don’t think I managed to clap enough after the performance â€" thank you, Cirque du Soleil, for a great experience. And a special thumbs up to Mr. Circus Unicycle Man for a really cool unicycle mount that I’d never seen before â€" not more memorable than the rest of the show, but it stuck in my head (I’d give a thumbs up to another set of performers, but if I did I might give away their act because I don’t know how else to describe them). Anyway; if any of the circus performers from that show read this blog, they’ll probably know what I’m talking about. If not, I’ll just go on rambling and wasting your time; if you’ve read this far, who knows what else I can get you to read ;) -Cam *footnote: word on the street is that we’re getting more than just Zune HDs â€" woot woot!. Ironically, as a very-tired-that-day field intern, I found out about that from an Amazon intern and then from Gizmodo before I found out from Microsoft. **double footnote: the subtitle for this post, and the delay in bringing it to you, was because I needed to check about Microsoft confidentiality before posting it. Smart thing to do. ***actually, I just found this blog post on a bar stool in California, disguised as an iBlogPost 3G. ****enough with the pointers theyre driving me crazy why do I memory leak I dont even

Value Based Pricing Strategy Value of Product Perceived - 1100 Words

Value Based Pricing Strategy: Value of the Product Perceived (Essay Sample) Content: Value Based Pricing StrategyValue Based Pricing is a pricing strategy used by marketers on the basis of the value of the product perceived or estimated by the customer. This approach disregards the cost of the product or any other historical prices of the product (Taylor, 2013). The basic knowledge that marketers have is that customers are looking for products that are very good but not overly priced (Taylor, 2013). Using the value based pricing approach for product calls for a very rational decision thereby taking into account all the factors that might have an effect on the end result. Different approaches are used for different products depending on whether the product is a new one or an old one, whether the product it made for the masses or caters to a niche market (Taylor, 2013). This makes it important for companies to look into the perspective of judging the value of the product. There are two approaches to the value-based pricing model, 1 Cost-based pricing mo del (Based on the economic value of the product) 2 Competition based pricing model (Based on the relative attributes positioning)Marketers estimate or find out from research the value a consumer puts for their product. This model is used in both B2B and B2C scenarios. Proponents of the cost-based pricing model suggest that it is easy to calculate the cost of the product and minimum information is required. Moreover this model is easy to administer and manage. The model also provide and transparent judgment about the price of the product. Marketer can more or less account for and adjust for the variable changes in the cost of the product due to the external factors that might affect the cost of the product. Therefore they need to insure themselves against this sudden fluctuation in the market dynamics. However, this model is not always used by marketers when thinking of value-based pricing. The critics to the cost-based model are that it does not account for the opportunity cost. Mor eover it ignores the role of the customer as well as the other players in the competition. Moreover, all the expenses it absorbs are treated as sunk costs (Taylor, 2013). This does not justify the total value of the product and this strategy is sometimes treated as a side tools in assessing the value of the product. The second approach to value based pricing is based on competition. The marketers assess the value of the product by analyzing it with the products the market has to offer (Taylor, 2013). The other players in the market, who directly compete with the product, are used as a benchmark to assess the quality of the product and the price tag attached to it. Since the data is easily achievable there is nothing new in assessing what you competitors would not. Moreover, in order to analyze the positioning of the product assessing it with that of the competition gives a fair idea. This model takes into account the difference pricing strategies of the competitorà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬s produc t also and provides a dynamic strategy to change in a given situation. However, this is more of a reactive approach than a proactive one.The competition based pricing model allows marketers to focus on the attributes of the purchase decision of the consumer. Moreover, it gives an idea of the market share of the product through research of the competition (Taylor, 2013). However critics to this model of pricing suggest that the available data may not always be right and may be subjective. Secondly, the attributed in determining the consumers purchasing behavior make not take into account the right factors (Taylor, 2013). Marketers do acknowledge that consumers buying decision is irrational and is based on complex calculations of the brain. Using this approach does not accounts for these factors and ignore the psychological and emotional variables affecting the buying behavior of the customer (Taylor, 2013).Marketers find it hard and tiresome in assessing the perceived value of their product in t...

Introduction Of Women s Studies 101.1002 Essay - 1320 Words

Anthony Statton Introduction to Women’s Studies 101.1002 Jackson November 7. 2016 Blurring the Lines Realness defined by the dictionary definition is existing or occurring as fact; actual rather than imaginary, ideal, or fictitious but taking it a step further and defining it in the drag world, realness commonly refers to the ability to â€Å"blend† or â€Å"pass† as the opposite sex. The entirety of Janet Mock s Redefining Realness is exactly that, to take her own definition of the word and use it as a non-conformative mean to achieve self-actualization, to instead be real to herself rather than for anyone else s sake. Mock, through the struggle told in her own written story redefines a word with a variance of definitions in multiple communities, to not define her but be defined by her, so that rather than blend or pass she instead becomes the black woman she had truly been. Although her story stands to show her fight for the belief one is not born, but rather becomes a woman (171) the book itself acts as a beacon to all whom can sympathize or identify with her strugg le, she takes her characterization of what it means to be real and shares it with both the readers who share her aspects and those looking to understand them. In the reading, Judith Lorber discusses the social construction of gender. She talks about â€Å"performing gender† as a way to fit into society and describes how gender construction begins at birth and has to be either reaffirmed or redefined. Mock

The Slice Of A Knife - 1296 Words

The Slice of a Knife He didn’t look that dead. Apart from the river of blood rushing out the gaping neck wound, he looked pretty much the same as he did a few minutes before. His hand was still clasped around his bottle of beer and face was still frozen in a permanent gaze of boredom. The only thing different about James’s face was the single tear that rolled down his cheek and hung on the cliff of his chin amongst his stubble. As it fell from his face, his body smashed forward into the wooden table. And in that moment I felt completely alone. James was the only reason I was there with the oudious group of so-called ‘friends’. Table 1: NPV of the equipment at a 6% interest rate Year Outlay (−) or income Present value calculation Present value of outlay (−) or income 0 −$7,000 — −$7,000 1 2,000 $2,000/(1.06)1 1,887 2 2,000 2,000/(1.06)2 1,780 3 2,000 2,000/(1.06)3 1,679 4 2,500 2,500/(1.06)4 1,980 Total net present value: $326 The low interest rate results into a positive NPV and this makes the equipment worthy of investment. Pertinent financial ratios Financial ratios are used as indicators of performance. In order to make the right investment decision on the equipment, the clinic should account for the whole lifecycle costs which include the installment of the infrastructure, maintenance as well as its disposal. Profitability analysis of the equipment will take into considerations all the costs that were borne over the whole life cycle of the equipment. The liquidity and profitability ratios of Prime Care Heart Clinic clearly indicate that the clinic is in a healthy financial position and this ratio indicates that the equipment installation of the new equipment will be profitable for the clinic. Break even analysis It defines the point at which an investment will generate positive returns. Total costs = $ 7,000 Total revenue per each screening is $67.00 $81, 000/ $67 = 1, 208 screenings as the break even point At $67, the clinic must perform 1, 208 screenings per month in order to break even. At this point, no profit or loss is made. For this investment to generate positive returns, the clinic must perform more than the break even screenings per month. It is recommendable for Prime Care Heart Clinic to invest in the radiology equipment as the rates of return from the equipment are quite favorable for the clinic both in the short term and in the long term. Addressing financial risks and required returns The most likely way for Prime Care Heart Clinic should address financial risk and required returns are to align them with the business model. A business model is a framework which is used for the achievement of goals. In the business model, each manager has the responsibility to supervise a given number of functions, subordinates or even subordinates. The manager also has the sole responsibility to oversee a limited number of initiatives, financial risks and the required returns from the investments. To address its financial risks and the required returns, Prime Care Heart Clinic should align its hierarchy of risk categories in accordance with its business model. References John J. Power Quality and Harmonics Free-Sample for Students-Myassignment

Questions: 1.What is Power Quality?2.What are Some Power Quality Concerns?3.What are Harmonics and what Causes them?4.What is the Effect of Harmonics Distortion?5.What are the Process for ttenuation of Harmonic Distortions? Answers: 1.The grids ability or electricals network provide a stable and clean power supply is known as Power Quality. A perfect power supply which is always available, creates power supply. It has a shape of pure sinusoidal wave and it always within frequency tolerance and voltage (Ortega, Hernandez Garcia, 2013). As per IEC what are the general classes of Power Quality problem? Conducted low frequency phenomena Voltage fluctuation (flicker) Signal system (power line carrier) Voltage imbalance (unbalance) Voltage dips and interruption Induced low frequency voltage Power frequency variation DC in AC network (Das, 2016) Harmonics and inter-harmonics Radiated low frequency phenomena Magnetic and Electric field 2.The significant sign of a power-quality issue may be an anamorphic sine wave of the sources of power. Problems may persists in the amplitude form either till a certain level. At certain cases the power-quality may be completely interrupted due to the problem. The aggravation would by and large initiated by harmonics in the supply system of the main voltage or in the current or in both. Several industries from offshore oil rigs to even high profile data centres, throughout the globe suffers as a consequence of poor quality of power (Satyanarayana et. Al, 2013). Low quality of power leads to increasing cost of energy production and high usage of energy. This rising energy and disturbances in the production can be very problematic especially when people are using modern equipment with high level of sensitivity. Ironically, it has been observed that the disturbance occurs from the equipment itself. 3.Harmonic Distortion The summation of integral multiples of some basic frequency that generates distorted wave-form is known as Harmonics (Ebenezer, Ramachandrala, Pillai Sarasamma, 2015). The situation where there is disturbance caused by the frequency multiples of sine waves in the AC power signal is termed as Harmonic Distortion. Total Harmonic Distortion (TDH) is the measurement of the aggregate amount of Harmonic distortion within a system. TDH is mathematically represented as the ratio of power supply due to harmonics and power of the rudimental supply. Causes of Harmonic Distortion The non-linear loads within any power system causes the formation of Harmonics within the same. The non-linear load is incapable of drawing proportionate amount of current with the sinusoidal waveform of 60 Hertz voltage. In other words, the equipment does not take into current in a smooth fashion but gulps it from the supply point (Kalbat, 2013). There are several devices with power electronics that produces harmonics with non-linear loads. They are as follows: Consumer electronics Electronic lighting ballasts Computer equipmen Welders and battery charges Adjustable speed motor drives (ASDs)+ In order to control the circuits, the modern electrical system uses power electronics. All these power electronics namely different types of domestic electronic gadgets like computer, television and others requires the supply of DC power to function and operate (Castilla et. Al, 2013). The 3-Phase AC supply in a utility supply has been shown below: Figure 1: Three Phase Altering Voltage Source: Created by the Author A perfect sine wave has been portrayed here with a frequency of 50 Hz. Keeping things simple and for ease of calculation the amplitude has been kept at 1that is it has been normalised. The waveform shown here is a perfect sine wave at a frequency of 50Hz. For simplicity the amplitude is normalised to 1. Figure 2: Source: Created by the author Here, f(x) = sin (x) and f(x) = The resulting wave shows a strong departure from the smooth waves comprising it: Figure 3 Source: Created by the Author Figure 4 Source: Created by the Author In reality a sine wave and some harmonics of the same can help in creating any function. Symptoms of harmonics Harmonics has little concern, in a small quantities. In your facility too much non-linear loads can make power quality problems (Aye Naing, 2014). How do you know the harmonics present in your electrical system? There are few symptom to be aware of: Overheated motors and transformers Over-loaded neutral conductors Timing errors in sensitive electronic equipment Failure of power factor correction capacitors Blown fuses or breakers tripping repeatedly 4.Distortion Effect: The waveform of multiple frequency of the fundamental input signal is known as Harmonics. Harmonics effect (high frequency sine wave) can be explained by studying the fundamental frequency sine wave with the relationship of Harmonics. To increase the current in the system is one of the main effect of power system harmonics. This is basically the case of third harmonics which causes the incrementing zero sequence current and this causes the increment of current in nuclear conductor (Ruiz-Cortes et. Al, 2015). In order the non-liner load to the design of the electric system, this effected special consideration 5.Attenuation of Harmonics Inductive Reactance Method:To attenuate harmonics we need to add a line reactor or isolation transformer. Benefits: Technically simple and low cost. Concern: In high order harmonics the reduction is done due to which a little effect occurs on 5th and 7th harmonics which cause a drop of associated voltage, the added amount of reactance are limited (Castilla et. Al 2013). Passive Filters: Method: It provide a path of low impedance to the ground for harmonic frequencies Benefits: Passive filters helps to tune frequency between two harmonics so as to abate both of them. Disadvantage: The filter needs tuning which indulges labour intensive techniques. They offer gateway to harmonics and hence are difficult to size. In addition, they are sensitive to future changes. Active Filters: Method: The active filter cancels those harmonics generated within the equipment by injecting opposite yet equal harmonics within the power system. Benefit: The main benefit of this filter is that it has helps in reducing the harmonics below the required level (Kalbat, 2013). Disadvantages: The high performing inverter which helps in injection of harmonics very costly. Reliability is a problem for the power transistors which are exposed to the conditions of the line. 12-pulse Rectifiers Method: A single DC bus is used to separate two rectifier. From the phase shifted supplies, the two bridges are faded. Benefits: It is very effective to eliminate 5th and 7th harmonics. It stops harmonics from the source. It is insensitive to change the future system. Concerns: A little attenuation is done to the 11th and 13th harmonics. In every case it may not meet the IEEE standard (Das, 2016). 18-Pulse Rectifiers Method: This is an integration of rectifier and phase shift transformer which can draw sinusoidal wave directly from the source of generation. Benefit: The most important thing about this rectifier is that it meets the criterion set by IEEE. It is insensitive in nature with the future changes and stops the harmonics right at the source. In addition, it attenuates them up to 35th step. Concern: The main concern it that this rectifier can be expensive especially at smaller level of HPs. Figure 5 Eliminating harmonics There are umpteen tools available for workers which are designed to deal with harmonics. There is a need for proper analysis of the different tools available in the market to eliminate any problem associated with the application. The usage of active filters and passive filters depends on the specific situation where it is being used. The active filters is the latest technology in the market which expects to rule the market and gain large volume of market share (Aye Naing, 2014). It can be possible as soon as the initial cost of establishment becomes competitive with the existing passive filter. The passive filter on other hand is the one which is mostly used at present in the market. It has the upper-hand of being custom designed as per the requirement of application and site Reference: Aye, T. M., Naing, S. (2014). Code of Ethics Sustainable Business Communities

Question: Describe about the Code of Ethics for Sustainable Business Communities. Answer: 1: As a Civil Engineer and that too at a higher level in the organisations hierarchy I am fully aware that the professional Code of conduct. In analysis the Samarco disaster the first thing that strikes that all the areas of ethical conduct as required under the engineering profession. To quickly recapitulate the entire disaster it is found that with the falling prices of Iron Ore pellets in the market the company started stepping up its production. Now higher production meant higher generation of waste materials. While the retaining capacity of the waste material remained a constraint the company decided to raise the height of the dams holding the slurry waste. Despite the warning from the original designer about the raised walls being precariously placed and cracks having shown up in many places in the dam the organisation decided to play down the danger and the dam eventually gave way(Mackenzie, 2016). The damage was extensive and the worst part of the entire scene is that the company is trying to find out the culprit instead of giving priority to rehabilitation of the people whose properties have been damaged. Now the individual aspects of the ethical code of conduct will be taken up for discussion and it will soon be evident that the catastrophic condition would have struck sooner or later. Demonstrate Integrity: The mining company has consistently projected a picture to the people and the administration including the police that there was no cause for worry and every aspect of the mining activities were safe and secure. They knew very well that that the dams holding the waste sludge was not designed for accommodating the volume that was being generated(Smith, 2013). Practise Competently: Professional competence is very highly questionable here since apart from the very insecure condition of the dam the quality of the sludge it held was highly toxic and they had not taken the steps for treating the sludge for toxicity as would be expected from a competent engineer. The damage to the flora and fauna in the path of the slurrys travel indicates that professional competence is highly questionable(engineersaustralia, 2010). Exercise Leadership: The organisation failed to show concern for their people. When people were suffering so very acutely this company chief executive is constantly talking about finding out the reasons for this disaster. They were directly undermining the urgency about the need to rehabilitate the people and clear the mess created by the failing of the dam. The basic fault was in trying to serve the interests of the shareholders raising the production level without taking precaution to protect the interests of other stakeholders like the employees, the community and the environment(Gahan, et al., 2016). Promote Sustainability: Their actions very clearly manifest their very scant concern for the sustainability. They did a very shabby work of storing their mining waste when they should have taken much greater care to ensure that all danger zones are suitably looked into and problems addressed(Burke, 2011). 2: There are very clearly laid down rules for treatment of wastes, both from industries as well for mines, that before he wastes are released to the environment they should be treated adequately so that the damage done to the environment is controlled. The extent of strictness and coverage of these rules keep changing as time passes(Bagley, 2011). Now, in the extraction of Iron Ore from its deposits the generation of fines, undersize and earth content cannot be eliminated. Rules are very clear about the release of the waste products into the nature and they cannot be changed. Further, there may be some temporary benefits, mainly for the investors in flouting the rules but that cannot go on for all time(Griggs, Clarke, Iredale, 2009). Hence the first and foremost thing is to ensure that the working of the organisation does not violate the rules and at the same time act in a manner which is in compliance with the ethical demand of the profession. Compliance to rules is only the tip of the iceberg; the main idea is to ensure that the interests of all the stakeholders are attended to without neglecting the need of any stakeholder. The proposal is to put in place a system of treating the wastes so that they are harmless to the nature. The toxicity and acid content of the waste matter should not harm the flora and fauna of the land. This obviously is easier said than done since the process may involve a tidy investment towards the establishment of the waste treatment facility. While the organisation had in the past given the lowest priority to handling the waste matter it is now time to wake up to the fact that while by storing the waste products near the site of excavation may be legally tenable but ethically it stands on the way of professional engineers ethics. As engineers we have to behave more responsibly and ensure that none of our actions led to any legal or ethical violations in the long run(coursehero, 2014). While treating the waste generated is a certain way of being responsible for the well being of the community, another way would be to sell off the waste materials in the world market. The colour of the sludge that is shown flowing in the link indicates that the sludge contains a reasonably high content of iron ore. This is construed on seeing the colour which is dark red and has the colour of low grade iron ore. There are many steel plants in the world who may take away the waste material for use at their end after refining and washing. This company should not get constrained by the price it fetches it should be prepared to dispose of the waste materials at the rock bottom price. Whatever is not as a price is a bonus since thereby they save on the costs of treating the waste products. If there are no takers available, then this company should get rid of the materials without charging anything since that would enable them to avoid the expenditure involved in building dams and treatments. In this way both ethical as well as the legal requirements are fulfilled. 3: In Australia the laws pertaining to contracts are largely products of common law and have been evolved by the courts and are not generally passed by the parliament. A fundamental principle followed by common law is that all contracts are essentially bargains which have been made freely between parties who have equal say or power in executing the contract. The basic premise is that there is total and full freedom given to the parties in working out and finalising any contract. In the present day, however, the buyer and seller do not have equal power(Fairhall, 2012). The seller is usually a large business house with immense clout in the government and judiciary while the common man has to choose between take it or Leave it options(Quilter, 2014). Acceptance of an offer must be concluded with an agreement between two parties. After successfully compilation of the agreement, both the parties are legally bound to each other. Each party will be giving some consideration about the agreement for promise to do, or not do. There must be a legal opportunity to enter into an agreement or into the contract for both the parties. Every contract has some legal and unique requirements; like selling of land must be in writing. Consent to the agreement should be unique for each parties. Only those person who are into the agreement, can only enforce the particular contract. Finally the legality of contract describes that the purpose of the agreement is contrary to law and that can not be enforced by the court. Now, this case of the sportsman purchasing the automobile from this company who despite being told categorically by the sales person that the car can travel on its own pretty well but the driver of the vehicle must always be prepared to take over the control since there was no better way to travel than by ensuring safety by manual control when needed. Thus prima facie this company has delivered a vehicle which can generally travel on its own but the travelling should be ensured under the alert eyes of the driver. The customer did not heed the advice of the sales person and he did not even go through the details of the conditions of sale while signing the purchase contract. Judged by these facts the company is in a very sound position and there is not much cause for worry in this regard(Zetler, 2011). However, the main source of concern for this company is the revelation that the failure of the engineer to locate a technical fault. As per the case study the fault of the Self-Drive mode of the car has been acknowledged by BC due to human error by an engineer during the wiring, which led to the crash. This is the prime area of concern and the management must own up the responsibility for the failure which was due to a technical fault. As per the requirements of engineering ethics he engineer had not acted responsibly since his lapse in locating the loose wiring cost the customer dearly. Since their actions affect the people who use the cars the engineer should have taken the time for checking the circuit and ascertaining that it was technically perfect(Wilson, 2016). This might have meant a lower production figure for the day yet whatever number of cars would have come out that particular day would have been fit for use without causing an accident. This is to recommend to the management that while the commercial implications are important for every engineer the management must create a culture where the ethical aspect is given its due recognition and importance. This ethical stand should have been ensured and encouraged by the top management. Let us recollect the old saying The neck of the bottle is always at the top. References: Bagley, E. (2011). How to Make an APA Citation Sample

How to Make an APA Citation SampleIf you are a student who is going to write a dissertation, you will have to learn how to make an APA citation sample. There are many things that you need to do when writing your essay, but the use of a citation sample will definitely help you out. This will be the first time that you see what an actual APA citation is like. When you begin to write an essay for an APA test, you will have to use citations. These are the most commonly used format of a typical reference work. In fact, most students find it helpful to have this template with them. You will find that you can have the essay easily printed, or you can photocopy this template so that you can take the same thing to the library and have it written out for you.Even though you can print out this example essay, you can even save it to your computer for a more in-depth explanation. Although the textbook you are using to write your own essay will contain a citation, it may not be as clear as what you will see with this sample. This is why you should photocopy it and take it to the library for a little extra instruction. Of course, this template is made for the APA version, but there are some guidelines that you can follow to make sure that you are using the right one.For the beginning reference writers, you may find that the referencing format they are using isn't that accurate. While the citation sample is done in such a way that it is easy to understand, the ideas behind it are just as important. And while you may find that the method you are using is the correct one, it will still take a bit of work on your part to make it effective. The great thing about this guideline is that it can help you do exactly that. While you cannot copy it word for word, you will have all the details in one place and can create your own template that is unique. You can also change it a little bit from the format you want and make it yours, based on what you are going to write. When you are writing your own essay, the sample is perfect for you to refer to at any time. It will be the right method for you to follow, and you won't have to worry about wasting time copying something down. Once you begin to write your own paper, this template will always be there. This is the guide you will be using. As you have learned by now, the online sample comes from the APA, and it is very detailed. You will find that if you make a copy of it, you can continue to update it and improve it for years to come.
